A general term of silica is Vitreous silica which is being used in manufacturing all type of silica glass. Fused Quartz would be obtained through crystalline silica. You will get various products like opaque and translucent products. If silicon would derive synthetically then produced material would synthetically fused silica. Cleaning procedure

Fused Quartz cleaning process is not convenient. If you look into its cleaning procedure then fused silica need to place 7% in the solution of ammonium bi-fluoride but make it sure it shouldn’t be more than ten minutes and after that, 10% of its volume need to place in hydrofluoric acid, but not more than five minutes. When cleaning procedure would be done then use distilled water for rinsing purpose and let it be dry.

Rotation Method

For devitrification process, increasing resistance and quartz ware slump needs to form a layer of cristobalite layer. The new tube needs to be bare the temperature 1200°C and rotation at 90° within every two hours for the first 12-24 hours.

Storing procedure

This is a requirement of storing method that it should be kept in the original container. For tubing process, end coverings should be retained until its usage. You must be thinking why do we need to save the ends? It will protect them from cracking and will keep the dust and moisture away. It will not affect the performance of fused quartz by storing in this manner.

Galvanization of the products

Do you know silica glass and quartz galvanization use to do at 1150°C.? There would be the restrained point at 1120°C. It would be quite hard in such situation when strain would be again developed due to the cooling process. It requires extra care for large sized products.

Blending of fused Quartz and other materials

Quartz and silica used to expand with an increase in temperature slightly. It required extra care when we used to blend with other products because during rising temperature cracks are possible. It would be less possible with other materials.

Furnace Insertion

Quartz and silica glass experience low thermal conductivity. Cracks are possible while heating, so it needs extra attention during this procedure. Deforming can be done at 1100°C or higher temperature. This the reason why fused silica requires extra care during furnace Insertion.
